Welcome
to Tlachac Dot Com
Throughout your course, I will use this web site
as a tool to deliver files, post assignments and
provide links to pages on the Internet. Weekly schedules
are posted on the Web Design Calendar or Animation
Calendar pages. Please check your class calendar
daily for updates on our projects or assignments.
ELECTRONIC
PORTFOLIOS
Web Design and Computer Animation students will create
a presentation quality portfolio web site in Dreamweaver
that is published on the Internet. Projects, exercises,
assignments, and animations will be published as individual
pages of the web site. At course completion, each student
will have created an online portfolio site that they
can present to a prospective Employer, Client, College
or University.
DESIGN
EMPHASIS
An emphasis is placed on the creative process in all
of these courses. Effective design principles are discussed
as they apply to graphic communications whether it is
on printed page, observed on screen in a movie or published
electronically on a web page. Students learn to successfully
interface with various programs in the production of
original graphic elements, digital movies, and web pages.
ROP
(REGIONAL OCCUPATIONAL PROGRAM)
Basic workplace and job acquisition skills are emphasized
throughout these courses to build an awareness of career
options and advanced educational opportunities. Upon
completion of the course each student can receive a
R.O.P. Certificate of Competency in Web Page Design
and Animation issued by the San Diego County Office
of Education Regional Occupational Program.
On
the ROP Certificate, the marketable skills learned during
the year are described in detail for employers or college
counselors and are often 4– 5 pages in length.
