Capture the home page of each web site you will present in the case study.
1. Capture the screen (Press the Print Scrn SysRq Key on your keyboard)
In
Photoshop
2. File> New > OK (choose the size that Photoshop suggests)
3. Edit> Paste
4. Crop away the task bar and any other distracting pixels by trimming off the start menu on the bottom.
(the shortcut to the crop tool is the letter C on your keyboard)
5. Image> Image Size> Change width to 300 Pixels (Check Mark is by constrain
proportions)
6. View> Actual Pixels ( you should now be seeing the actual size of the image you will publish on the web)
7. Filter > Sharpen> Unsharp Mask Use this tool to make your image look "crisp"
(Amount slider can go high - Keep Radius and Threshold
at Relatively low numbers ) OK

At what level is the image displayed to your satisfaction?
Weigh
the factors:
Image quality vs. the download speed of the image.
Compare 56.6 K Modem with Cable-DSL download time.
12.
Make your choice based on download time estimated for a 56.6K Modem.
13. Save the optimized image in your web directory.
14. Give the file a descriptive name : TlachacDotcomMini.jpg
or TlachacThumbnail.gif.
You may even decide to include the dimension
to make an even more descipt name.
Example: Tlachac 200x150.jpg
