Computer Animation
This course introduces
computer animation authoring with
an emphasis on multimedia HTML web
design. Multimedia designers can
create a blend of text, pictures,
music, and graphics. Students will
use Macromedia FLASH to create animated
movies, multimedia web sites, E-greeting
cards, and cartoons for publishing
on the Internet and on CD-ROM. Instruction
emphasizes the creative and technical
process of working from the initial
concept to the final commercial
product including; storyboarding,
editing MP3 music files, creating
original graphics, and page layout
for the Internet. Careers in web
design and multimedia production
are explored. During the course
students will produce an online
digital portfolio. Students who
are enrolled in this class and who
are working may earn additional
credit toward graduation by co-enrolling
in the Internship
program

Web Design I
Learn how to create and
design web sites. This course offers
training in HTML web design techniques
and animation authoring using FLASH.
Students will focus on commercial
art, web page layout and animation
software. Create original graphics,
learn page layout techniques for
the Internet, add motion with JavaScript,
manipulate digital photos in Photoshop,
record sounds, and edit MP3 files
for use in animations or for downloading
from web pages. Web sites, digital
art, and animation projects will
be prepared for publishing on the
Internet and on CD-ROM. Careers
in web design, multimedia production,
and graphic design are explored.
During the course students will
produce an online digital portfolio.
Students who are enrolled in this
class and who are working may earn
additional credit toward graduation
by co-enrolling in the Internship

Web Design II
This course offers advanced
training in multimedia HTML web
design and animation authoring using
Macromedia FLASH. Examine FLASH
actions and action scripting, use
multiple media sources within FLASH,
and explore combining animation
with interactivity. Students will
learn advanced digital drawing skills,
photo editing and cartooning techniques.
Incorporate interactive forms, style
sheets, and JavaScript on web pages.
Projects will be prepared for publishing
on the Internet or on CD-ROM. Careers
in web design, animation, and multimedia
production. During the course students
will produce an online digital portfolio.
Students who are enrolled in this
class and who are working may earn
additional credit toward graduation
by co-enrolling in the Internship

Painting and Drawing in a Virtual
Studio
See your images on the web
and in print? Digital imaging at its
best! Learn Adobe’s Photoshop,
ImageReady and Procreate’s Painter,
to draw, paint, and create. Use a
digital camera and scanner, as well
as digital pencils and brushes, to
create images for the Internet and
commercial printing. If you are interested
in a career in the arts or upgrading
your digital skills, this class is
for you. Principles of color and design,
photo enhancing and retouching, illustration
and painting techniques, as applied
to digital imaging are included. Yes,
art is one of the most enjoyable and
rewarding career moves that you can
make! Prior knowledge of Windows is
a plus, but not required. |

Pages in a Virtual Studio
How
can I create a web page? Who would
I pay and how much will it cost?
How can I market my website? Learn
all of this and more.
See
your images and ideas on the web.
This is a hands-on project based
class where you will create you
own web pages and publish them on
the Internet and on CD Rom. Use
HTML and Dreamweaver to create a
website for a business, a photo
gallery website, and a personal
portfolio website to showcase your
talents! An emphasis is placed on
the creative process.
Use Adobe Photoshop, ImageReady,
and Fireworks to create, retouch,
resize and prepare images for publishing
on the Internet or to send in email.
Incorporate your digital photography
on web pages. Create your own buttons,
logos, and backgrounds. Use a digital
camera and scanner, as well as digital
brushes, to create images.
You can understand the inside workings
of web publishing! With this knowledge
you can confidently decide to create
you own web pages or have the background
knowledge needed to hire a qualified
professional. If you are interested
in a career in web design or upgrading
your digital skills, this class
is for you.

ROP
Internship Program
Students can participate in on-the-job
training while attending an ROP course.
Not only will students receive credit
for their class time, but can obtain
credit through working. A minimum
of 75 hours of work semester is required
to earn five credits. A maximum of
15 hours per week can be used toward
the required 75 hours. Students who
are not working and are having trouble
with their job search can receive
assistance from their instructor in
locating employment. Students must
obtain permission from the instructor
before an on-the-job training assignment.
Students must conform to dress codes
and other standards required by the
training site management.
